If you have a disagreement with your significant other, and you are sure that you are right, and that your feelings are valid, you should not back down. Many people will say that they were wrong, simply to avoid an argument. This is a bad idea. If you do this often, you can begin to feel resentment toward your significant other. This resentment can lead to a break up.

Mistake #3 Lack of Self Esteem

If you have a lack of self esteem, it can cause problems in your relationship. You may find that you are inhibited sexually due to the way that you feel about yourself. You may not want to do things, such as go to the beach or anywhere that you would need to wear a bathing suit. This can become frustrating for your partner. Also, it takes a lot for someone to constantly need to prop you up and be your cheerleader when you have self esteem issues. All couples have arguments here and there, it is normal. What is not normal, is when you continue to bring up old fights over and over again. The less arguing you do, the better. You should have a policy, once a fight is over, it should be over for good. Bringing up old fights will only tear your relationship apart.

Humor is important in every relationship. If you cannot laugh together, what is the point of being together. One type of humor that you want to avoid, is sarcastic humor at your partner’s expense. You may think you are being funny, but you are actually being hurtful. The best thing that you can do is try humor which does not put your partner down, so that you can both share in the laugh.

It is not uncommon for people to have friends of the opposite sex. If you have someone in your life, and your partner is not comfortable with the relationship, you should end the relationship. You may be sure that you have no interest in this person, it still makes your partner uncomfortable. If your significant other means so much to you, you should be willing to end that friendship to save your relationship.

Mistake #7 Nagging

Nagging can ruin a relationship very quickly. If you are constantly on your partner about not doing this, and forgetting to do that, it can be annoying. If you nag about what your partner is wearing, how they have combed their hair, or how they are behaving at a party, you will only drive them away.
